Jackery Bolt is a well-known power bank brand. This 6000 mAh portable charger can charge 3 items at once though not all to a full charge. This power bank has a built-in micro USB and lightning cable which are definite pluses. The Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh also boasts a USB output port, so you can charge a variety of devices. It’s designed to let you charge any tablet or phone whether Apple or Android. The attached cords easily tuck away into the body of the charger. The way the cords pull out is a bit awkward, however. This power bank is marketed as “made for iPhone” and “Apple certified.” Yet, users have reported that the lightning cable is too short or broke after a short amount of time. The Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh has efficient charging for its capacity, but there have been some concerning issues reported in multiple reviews.

Detailed Review

The Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh performs well for its size of 6000 mAh. Jackery markets it as faster charging than a factory iPhone charger. It certainly is as are other similar capacity power banks. It has versatility for Android and Apple designs with a third USB output in case you need to charge something else. It can charge an iPhone X up to 2.2 times. It can also charge tablets though these take more juice, so don’t expect a full charge. Amazon lists the following compatible phones: iPhone 7/ 7 Plus, iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, Galaxy S8, iPhone 6s / 6s Plus, and Google Pixel.

It takes approximately four hours to recharge the Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh. It can charge three phones at once but is not able to charge all three of them to full battery unless the Jackery is plugged into the wall. It can fully charge two phones at the same time. It has convenient pass-through charging meaning you can charge your device while the Jackery Bolt is charging.
There have been some less than stellar reviews of the Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh. The built-in micro USB cable and lightning cable are a great addition, but they could be longer for more ease of use. Repeat reviews mention the lightning cable and having to take phone cases off to charge phones. This is a hassle no one wants in their power bank. Jackery Bolt markets this power bank as “Apple certified” but multiple users have had specific issues with the included lightning cable. It was reported as being defective, too short, or fraying after a short amount of time. One particularly bad review on Amazon states that this power bank started smoking and giving off an unsafe amount of heat. Other reviewers reported that the Jackery didn’t last more than a few months before completely dying.
The Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh is a good idea with its built-in cords. No one wants to waste time looking for their power cords. However, it is a bit bulky for some pants pockets (width is 0.9 inches) especially in the age of skinny jeans. There are slimmer, more pocket-friendly models out there such as

The TG90 has virtually all the same features as the Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh, all the way down to the built-in flashlight. It’s got a slimmer, lightweight design though at 0.5 inches and 0.023 ounces. Compared to the weight of the Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh at 5.67 oz, the TG90 6000 mAh is like a feather. It’s also worth it to mention that the TG90 has an intelligent safety design to prevent overheating.

Average Performance & Concerning Reviews

All in all, the Jackery Bolt 6000 mAh falls short. Jackery Bolt is a well-known power bank brand, so this comes as a surprise. The company has recently discontinued the production of this bank, perhaps because of the faulty design. It’s still available for purchase on their website but no longer on Amazon. If you are looking for a similar power bank at a better price, try the It’s $21.99 on Amazon and more compatible with the newer iPhone models.
